Pediatrics

You want the very best for your child. At Central Care Clinic, we offer a full spectrum of health care services that kids need during a typical childhood. Whether it’s your child’s first visit to our office or just a routine well-child exam, we aim to make sure you and your child are always comfortable and informed. We take the time to talk with parents to help you understand your child’s needs and equip you with the knowledge needed for promoting a lifetime of optimal health and wellness for your child. From two months old to 18 years old, Central Care Clinic is here to be lifelong partners in your child’s health with exceptional, compassionate care.

Our Pediatric Services Include:

Allergy Testing and Management

An allergy is a reaction by the body’s immune system to something that should be harmless. When your child is suffering from allergy-like symptoms, you want to find the source of their symptoms and help them find relief. At Central Care Clinic, we offer onsite allergy skin testing with same-time results, immunotherapy treatment options and education for families about allergies in children, including:

  • Environmental allergies
  • Food allergies
  • Skin itching or rashes
  • Hay fever
  • Asthma

Asthma Care

Asthma is a disease of the lungs that doesn’t always display symptoms. While there is no cure for asthma, Central Care Clinic can help both you and your child learn to manage and control it. Our providers will teach you and your child what causes asthma, what happens during an asthma episode, what can trigger an episode, how to recognize a flare-up and how to use asthma medication and inhalers. Through education and routine management, your child’s symptoms and asthma attacks can be eased or prevented entirely.

Immunizations (Medicaid Only)

Vaccines are both safe and effective in preventing serious diseases and health complications in children and young adults. Regular vaccinations help children to ward off infections, and are administered as one of the safest and best methods of disease prevention. We are happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about vaccines and the recommended immunization schedule at your child’s next visit to our office.

Medicaid covers all of the recommended American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) vaccines for children at little to no cost to you.

Infections

If your child or adolescent has a bacterial, fungal or viral infectious disease, Central Care Clinic can provide expert diagnosis and treatment for a variety of different conditions. Children can contract an infection from contact with another person, animal or insect, or even through contaminated food or germs on an object. Our team is active in educating both you and your child on how to prevent common infections and answering any questions you may have.

Influenza Vaccines

Children, especially under the age of five, are at high risk of developing serious flu-related complications. A flu vaccine offers your child the best defense against the flu and its dangerous side effects and also reduces the spread of flu to others. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that children over the age of six months should get a seasonal flu vaccine each year. We will answer any questions or concerns you may have about influenza vaccines and ensure you and your child are ready for upcoming flu seasons each year.

School Physicals

During school physicals, our providers will have the opportunity to examine the changes and progress of your child annually. While physicals for younger children are more focused on developmental growth and vaccinations, adolescent and teenage physicals tend to be more focused on psychological and physical changes. Central Care Clinic will ensure you and your child are ready for any health or wellness concerns the upcoming school years bring — whether they’re just entering kindergarten or their final year of high school.

Social Disorders

At Central Care Clinic, we understand that being a kid isn’t always fun and games. Our providers here to help you and your child navigate difficult child behavioral problems and mental health concerns. We know that mental health issues don’t just affect your child’s wellbeing; they affect your entire family. Whether your child has depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other concerns, we will work with you and your child to create a customized treatment plan to get them the support they need to thrive.

Sports Injuries

Because child and adolescent athletes are still growing, they have a higher risk of being injured than adults. At Central Care Clinic, we offer therapeutic and medical options for sport-related injuries, from sprains and tears to fractures and broken bones. Our goal is to reduce your child’s pain and get them back to their normal activities with individualized plans of treatment. We take extra care to ensure your child’s injury heals thoroughly and does not repeat their injury in the future.

Sports Physicals

If your child plays sports, sports physicals are essential to ensuring that your child’s health will not be put at risk by joining a sports team. At Central Care Clinic, our providers can conduct the proper screening required for your child to participate in the recreational sports of their choosing — though be sure to be mindful of any school or athletic league deadlines for receiving their medical documentation. It is also important to note that annual school physicals cannot replace sports physicals

Well-Child Exams

Well-child exams are regular exams in which your child’s primary care physician checks your child’s development. They are also an opportune moment for you and your provider to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your kid. At each well-child exam, our providers will monitor your child’s physical, mental and emotional health and compare this to the national standards for children of that age.

Regular healthcare visits for your child are the cornerstone of a healthy and happy childhood. For personalized and comprehensive primary care for your child, from infancy to adolescence, Central Care Clinic is here for all of your family’s health and wellness needs.
